Stephen brings over three decades of leadership in the building services and commissioning sector, with a career defined by technical excellence, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to sustainable, high-performing environments.
Stephen leads the platform’s mission to unite specialist consultancies and deliver integrated, low-energy, design-led solutions across the built environment. Since joining QODA Consulting as Chief Executive in January 2024, he has championed innovation in technology, digital engineering, and sustainability, helping clients navigate the complexity of modern building challenges with confidence and clarity.
Prior to this, Stephen served for eight years as Managing Director, Commissioning EMEA at HDR, where he led complex, global projects and helped shape best practices across commissioning management.

Having helped shape environments where user comfort, performance, and sustainability go hand in hand, he understands the importance of putting people at the heart of every space. Head of Mergers and Acquisitions
With a strong track record in private equity, Shuaib leads Mergers & Acquisitions at GSBC, where he is responsible for the identification, execution, and management of potential acquisitions. Before joining GSBC, he worked at two of Europe’s largest private equity firms, specialising in investments across the Business Services and Technology sectors.
Bringing deep expertise in value creation and growth strategy, Shuaib ensures every opportunity is assessed not just for its financial potential, but for its ability to strengthen GSBC’s mission. His leadership in M&A is central to uniting the best consultancies and accelerating our vision of engineering a sustainable future.
Meet James
With over 45 years of experience in the Building Services industry, James brings a wealth of expertise to GSBC in his role as Advisor. His career spans both contracting and consultancy.
Having worked as a Senior Director at major privately owned Building Services Engineering consultancies, James has been involved in numerous landmark development projects. He is recognised for building strong client relationships, championing innovative ways of working, and keeping quality and sustainability of design front and centre.
